Princess Sirindhorn beloved

Click to Bigger      Her Royal Highness Princess Maha Chakri Sirindhorn was born 2 April 1955 to Their Majesties the King and Queen of Thailand. She graduated from the Faculty of Arts, Chulalongkorn University with a B.A. degree, first class honor, gold medal. She continued on to do two graduate programs concurrently, in Oriental Epigraphy at Silapakorn University and Pali and Sanskrit at Chulalongkorn University. She then pursued a doctoral degree in Development Education at Srinakharinwirot University. 
     Besides formal education, HRH Princess Sirindhorn has always enjoyed learning by reading on her own and through actual experiences. The subjects that are dearest to her heart are anthropology, arts, cultures and languages. She loves to travel to places and diligently takes notes which she later turns into stories of the places and peoples that she has visited. 
Click to Bigger      Her effort to share what she has learned with others reflects her belief in the importance of education and promoting better understanding among people of different cultures. Princess Sirindhorn is a dedicated teacher, always using creativity to better relate students' lessons to different aspects of life. As a history teacher at Chulachomklao Royal Military Academy, she takes her students on study tours to help them understand experientially the connection between history, geography, economy and cultures. 
     Following the footsteps of His Majesty the King, HRH Princess Sirindhorn initiates and supports various projects with the goal of promoting sustainable development. She believes that since the majority of Thai people still rely on agriculture as their main livelihood, it is therefore important to preserve the health and wealth of the country's diverse natural resources. 
Click to Bigger      A gifted Thai classical musician and a speaker of several languages, HRH Princess Sirindhorn represents the country in official and unofficial visits to foreign countries. In recognition of her services to the throne and the nation, she was bestowed with the title "Somdech Phra," which qualifies her for succession to the throne. 
     Despite her high stature, she likes to live and dress simply, casually interacting with commoners. With her charm, modesty and enthusiasm to learn about others, she has won the hearts of people everywhere she goes, like a light that shines and warms our hearts.
